Bob Duff: All-Star Today, Gone Tomorrow? Defenseman Mike Green, Detroit's selection to the NHL All-Star Game, will almost certainly be traded before the NHL trade deadline.

He'd actually have to include substance or get this....an opinion in his blog.

Green will be excellent trade bait... if they can get a first rounder for him that would be awesome.

Tyler Bertuzzi has officially made the team.. was told by Wings management to find a place in Detroit. So I won't be seeing him play in GR anymore. Good for him though... glad he's actually getting a chance to play and he's still under 25 years-old

It will be interesting to see how Little Bert develops and what kind of role he'll ultimately grow into -- if he really is good enough to stick around in the NHL for the foreseeable future.

I'll admit that I was genuinely pissed when the Wings took him all the way up in the second round in 2013, after he was projected to go somewhere in the seventh (if at all). At the time it looked like another utterly misguided pick where size and "local ties" (if somewhat tenuous) were prioritized over high-end skill (and maybe that's what it truly was).

I still don't know if the pick can be justified even in retrospect but I do have to admit that Bertuzzi is already a MUCH more effective pro than I ever thought he'd have any right to be. I've been pleasantly surprised by how far he's come.
